1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,
4 so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Have you ever done anything so bad that you just wanted to run away and hide?
Maybe you got caught in a lie? Maybe you went against the orders of your boss or parents? Maybe you overspent your budget limit and kept it from your spouse? Maybe there is an addiction you just can’t seem to shake?
Sin always forces us to hide, just like when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden of Eden by eating the forbidden fruit.
Reading Romans chapter 8 should give us a perspective that transforms everything. It summarizes the deep change you experience from the inside out when you live a life for Christ—a life that rejects the sin of the flesh and abides in His sweet Spirit. Romans 8 compares the differences between the law and grace.
The enemy wants us to stay hidden away. God doesn’t want to keep us stuck in our sin. He wants us to come out of hiding, confess, and move in the direction of reconciliation and restoration.
The results of this action are salvation in Jesus and no condemnation from the Father.
