3 And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;
God’s Word is true—we can count on it.
We need to accept this truth deep in our hearts. Psalm 51:6 says, “Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being. And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.”
We don’t live a life of perfection, but we do seek progress! Every obstacle you face is a chance to grow, to know God deeper, to draw nearer to Him. Instead of asking why something is happening to us, we should ask what God is teaching us through that circumstance. This helps us keep the right perspective.
As those who know Jesus Christ, we should seek to maintain a right relationship with God and others. The Holy Spirit gives you the desire and power to worship God and to do His will. Know God’s truth, believe God’s truth, and live according to that truth.
When we persevere in difficulties, our character grows. As our character grows, we have hope!
