The Summer Reading Program is a service provided by the Grapevine Police Department Community Outreach Center. The purpose is to combat summer reading loss in at-risk communities.
The program will begin on June 19th and run until August 14th every Tuesday and from 12 PM to 1 PM. Lunch will be provided for the kids participating in the program, so bring yours and plan on eating over a good book!
Location: There are two reading sites – The Community Outreach Center (3010 Mustang Dr.) and GRACE (610 Shady Brook Dr.). You are welcome to volunteer at either site or to alternate between the two.
Training: There are two training sessions(orientation) for this program. You only need to attend one of the orientations to volunteer in the program. They will be held in the Flex Room at 121 Community Church on Tuesday, June 12 10:30am-12pm and Thursday June 14 1:00pm-2:30pm. You can sign up now for an orientation and all dates that you are available to help with the Summer Reading Program!
