Lorraine Holland

Women’s + LifeGroup Minister

It is with joy and humility and a little bit of surprise that I find myself working in ministry at 121! My journey with the Lord began at a young age when my parents introduced me to a loving God and Good Father. At the age of 16 at a church camp, I encountered God personally, felt overwhelmed by God’s goodness and grace, and was moved to give my life to the Lord. I wept and laughed and still to this day get teary-eyed as I think about the Lord’s kindness in reaching out to me in such intimate ways.

My walk with the Lord has been a series of drifting away from God, getting distracted by the things of the world and my own selfish desires, and the Lord so gently and lovingly drawing me back to Himself. I have learned the truth of Psalm 16:8-9. “Set the Lord always before me, because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore, my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices; and my body also will rest secure.” This is my prayer for the women of our church. May we know the Lord so intimately that we feel his very presence next to us. May we be so full of God’s love that we cannot help but have a gladness of heart, tongues that rejoice, and a rest that can come only from the Lord. If you do not know this kind of intimacy, I would love to do my three favorite things with you. Drink coffee, go on a walk, and talk about Jesus.

I am married to my husband and best friend, Bobby who follows God’s calling in his life as a football and track coach and history teacher. When I’m not working, you can find me chasing around after our three very active and sometimes a little crazy children whom I also adore. Sure to be future track stars, we like to move it, move it at the Holland House. And when we aren’t moving, you will find us eating good food, listening to good music, and reading good books. Oh and talking about Jesus.
