Tell us about your family.
I’ve been married to my husband, Deryk, for 15 years and we have 3 sons (2 in middle school, 1 in elementary). We also have an energetic 70 pound retriever mutt, named Tigger for his incredibly powerful tail :)
What do you do for fun?
Going for hikes and watching Dallas Stars hockey with the family, as well as cheering from the sidelines at our boys’ soccer games, hockey games, cross country meets, band & choir concerts, and plays. Also enjoying swimming in the backyard with the dog, who loves the water. I’m a morning person, and love to get in some quiet time and yoga or HIIT before the fam gets up and heading to work. If I have free time on the weekends, love to curl up with a good novel.
Why are you passionate about serving with students?
Adolescence is a time of such incredible change, and a time when teens are becoming more independent and are truly making their faith their own. It’s such a privilege to be a part of this journey, providing an additional source of encouragement and support to help them navigate their world with a Christ-centered world view. Plus, they are just incredibly fun to spend time with!
What would you like to say to the parents?
I have middle school boys, and completely appreciate the many challenges that come along with the joys of parenting adolescents! Please reach out to me any time if I can be of help to you or your daughter – I would love to know about their successes and struggles, and how I might engage with them and pray specifically about issues they may be facing.
