“What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and put the vine-growers to death, and give the vineyard to others.”
Have you ever been burned by people? How did that affect your willingness to trust? Most of us lose faith in people to a degree when we have been hurt. We put up walls, and it is tough to open u ourselves up again. What is amazing about the owner of the vineyard in this passage is that he still shared his splendor with others even after such disaster. He carried out justice and was generous. While we are quickly jaded by life, God is constant and true to His character. He is a God of justice and grace, and His grace is accessible for all who surrender to Him. He could keep His abundance to Himself or only for a select few but instead He has opened the invitation to share it with all who believe.
This is who God is. His love, joy, mercy, and grace are available to us. Do the people around you know this hope? Have you shared what God has given to you or have you kept it to yourself? Jesus made it clear that this abundance is meant to be spread. We live as Christ’s ambassadors to share in this testimony of the God who has been patient, just, and generous as He has pursued us throughout history.
- What are some ways God operates differently than you? What is better about His way than the way we often handle things?
- How have you been changed by the grace God has shared with you? Who can you share His grace with this week?
- Pray and thank God for continuing to share His gift of grace. Ask Him to equip you to share that hope with others.
