“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
In the business world, when a problem arises, there will often be a series of meetings to throw out ideas and create a solution for the company. Sometimes these plans are successful and helpful, and other times they don’t scratch the surface of what’s really going on.
This problem of evil has never been hidden from God. He has always been able to see, with perfect perspective, the entirety of the problem and knows how deep it goes in the life of each person throughout history. He took no shortcuts for the solution but rather provided a path of redemption that was a complete and perfect out. He gave His only Son so that the problem of evil would be taken care of and eternal life with Him could be possible for all who believe. When we wrestle with the problem of evil, we may wonder, “Does God really care about what is going on?” The answer is a whole-hearted, yes! He cared so much that He did not create quick fix solutions, He addressed the problem completely at the root and gave a permanent solution of redemption through Jesus. As we wrestle with the problem of evil, God’s stance is clear: He hates evil more than we do, He sees the problem so much more clearly and completely than we do, and He gave His only Son to give us the final solution, eternal life with Him.
- When have you wrestled with the problem of evil? What are some of the problems you desire God to fix?
- What would change if you fully trusted that God cared about evil in the world and trusted Him with the solution?
- Pray and ask God who you can share the good news of how He has dealt with evil in the world with.
