“Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews.” (Acts 17:1)

This simple verse captures Paul and his team in motion, traveling from city to city with the gospel. They weren’t tourists meandering through Europe. They were missionaries on assignment, people who had allowed God to move their hearts and then their feet. The church in Thessalonica didn’t begin with a building or a budget. It began with people who were willing to go. Church planting always starts with a people on the move, people who pray “God, you’ve opened my eyes, now open my mouth to proclaim the goodness of the Lord.”

You don’t have to move across the country to live as a sent person. Most Christians won’t plant churches in distant cities, but all Christians are called to walk across the street to share the gospel with neighbors and build relationships. Are you living with intentionality where God has placed you? At your workplace, in your neighborhood, at your gym or coffee shop, do you see yourself as intentionally positioned by God? Living sent means viewing every ordinary place as mission ground and every conversation as an opportunity to point people toward Jesus.

Reflect:

  • Where has God specifically placed you (work, neighborhood, community) that you need to live more intentionally as a sent person?
  • What would change in your daily routine if you truly believed God positioned you where you are for kingdom purposes?
  • Ask God to give you eyes to see the mission field around you and courage to engage the people He’s placed in your path with gospel intentionality.
