And as He was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed was begging Him that he might accompany Him. And He did not let him, but He said to him, “Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.

Many TV shows today center around the idea of home renovation. They show a run-down place with all its disfunction and flaws but by the end of the episode, they display images of the before and after, showing a beautiful transformation. Without any explanation when we see the images side by side, we can appreciate in a special way the extensive work done to make the home beautiful. The evidence speaks for itself.

So many of us have been influenced by others’ testimonies, especially when we have seen up close how Jesus transformed their lives even in the most unlikely circumstances. Our testimonies are powerful. Just like Jesus commanded the man to go and tell, He has given us the same instruction. We might overcomplicate it sometimes, thinking we need to know or do more, but the call of Christ is simple: go and tell what He has done. Believers of all ages can answer this call. You don’t have to have all the answers to share what God has done in your life. He transformed you, changed you from the inside out, when you followed Him. He continues to make you into His image day by day. You have the Spirit of the living God inside you. You are equipped to do this. It is time to go and tell!

  • What is a personal testimony you can share with others?
  • What makes it difficult for you to share your testimony?
  • Pray and ask God to direct you in who to share your testimony with and pray that they would have hearts to receive it.
