“For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil. We worked night and day that we might not be a burden to any of you while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.” (1 Thessalonians 2:9)

Paul didn’t just preach the gospel with his words. He backed it up with his life, working his tent-making job while planting churches so no one could accuse him of being in ministry for personal gain. Think about that for a moment. The greatest missionary in church history was also punching a clock, making tents by day and preaching by night. His authenticity gave weight to his message. When people saw Paul’s life matched his lips, they couldn’t dismiss what he was saying.

How does your work reflect your faith? Whether you’re in an office, a classroom, a factory, or at home raising kids, your conduct speaks volumes about the Jesus you claim to follow. The world is watching to see if Christianity is just something you do on Sundays or if it’s woven into the fabric of who you are every single day. Your coworkers, your neighbors, your classmates are looking for authenticity. They want to know if this Jesus thing is real enough to change how you work, how you treat people, and how you handle pressure. Let your integrity at work be a sermon they can’t ignore.

Reflect:

  • In what specific ways does my conduct at work or school reflect my faith in Jesus?
  • Is there an area where my actions don’t match what I say I believe? What needs to change?
  • Ask God to help you work with integrity this week, representing Christ in every task and interaction, whether anyone is watching or not.
