In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. (Psalm 5:3)

Nehemiah’s journey toward rebuilding began long before he ever spoke to the king—it started with sustained prayer and a watchful heart. Psalm 5:3 captures that posture: bringing your request to God and then “eagerly watching” for what He will do. The sermon reminded us that we don’t need to force doors open; we learn to recognize the doors God opens and respond with obedience.Watching requires both patience and attentiveness. Nehemiah carried the burden for months, and in that time God shaped his desire, refined his motives, and prepared the moment. If you feel stuck between burden and breakthrough, you may be in a holy in-between season where God is aligning your heart with His purposes.Today, practice being present to God and present to your day. Ask Him for eyes to see where He is already at work—in your neighborhood, your workplace, your relationships—and for courage to step toward the next faithful action when an opportunity appears.
