“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)
If you walked into church today carrying shame, regret, or guilt, listen closely: that’s not from God. The enemy loves to heap condemnation on fathers especially, whispering that you’re not good enough, that you’ve failed too much, that you don’t deserve the family God gave you. But God convicts us to draw us closer. He doesn’t shame us to push us away. There’s a massive difference. Conviction says, “You can do better with My help.” Condemnation says, “You’ll never be enough.”
The sermon powerfully reminded us that any condemnation we feel is a lie. If you’re in Christ, your sins are forgiven. Past, present, and future. The cross covers it all. Jesus had you in mind when He hung there. You are chosen, loved, and equipped by God to lead your household. Not because you’re perfect, but because He is. So lay down whatever burden you’ve been carrying that was never yours to carry in the first place. Walk in the freedom of knowing that God doesn’t keep a record of your wrongs. Let that truth sink deep today, and watch how it transforms the way you lead, love, and serve.
Reflect:
- What specific guilt or shame have you been carrying that you need to leave at the foot of the cross?
- How would your leadership in your home change if you fully believed there’s no condemnation in Christ?
- Confess the areas where you’ve believed condemnation instead of conviction, and ask God to replace shame with His truth about who you are in Christ.
