Summary: Luke 14:16-24
In the passage today we read a parable about a lavish gathering a master prepared. Jesus shared this parable to describe the invitation to enter and share in His kingdom. Those who came to the banquet were not invited first or notable figures of society; the people who came to the banquet were the broken, disabled, and poor. The master’s preparation for this banquet and his extravagant invitation are reminders of God’s preparation for us and how He is calls us to extend the invitation of the gospel to others, especially the left out and forgotten.
What Does This Say about God?
God is generous, intentional, and loving. He has prepared a place for us in His Kingdom, we only need to accept His invitation and join in the banquet. He also extends the invitation of His Kingdom to those who are cast aside in society.
