“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word.” John 17:20

Take a moment to let this sink in: on the night before His crucifixion, in His darkest hour, Jesus was praying for you. Not just for the disciples gathered around Him, but for every person who would come to faith through their witness. He was looking through the sands of time, seeing you specifically, and lifting you up to the Father. This wasn’t a casual prayer or an afterthought. This was Jesus’ heart cry in His final hours of freedom.

What does this mean for us today? It means that God’s Word was never meant to stop with us. Just as those first disciples passed on what they learned, we’re called to do the same. Whether it’s in your workplace, your neighborhood, your family dinner table, or even on a mountaintop with your military platoon, you have opportunities to share what Jesus has done. The gospel moves through people who refuse to let it terminate on them. Who in your life needs to hear about Jesus through your words today?

Reflect:

  • Who first shared the gospel with you, and how has that impacted your life?
  • What’s one practical way you could “pass on” what God has been teaching you this week?
  • Ask God to show you someone specific who needs to hear about Jesus through your story, and pray for courage to share with them.
