Summary: John 15:1-11
When we are close with others, it is not simply because we know a lot about them but because we have spent time with them. When Jesus spoke to His disciples, He gave them instruction we also need today: “Remain in me.” This is how we were designed to be, and living this way will bring about actual fruit. Jesus went so far to say, “apart from me you can do nothing” (v. 5). We have a lot of ideas about things we can do on our own, but Jesus reminds us that the best place for us to be is found in Him.
What Does This Say about God?
God designed us to walk with Him. Life in Christ is more than the moment we are saved. There is much fruit and blessing in abiding in Christ because we were created to live that way from the beginning.
